
Elisabeth Rongomaiwahine Mohi (Rose) (Ngāti Kahungunu ki Heretaunga) has worked for decades in various capacities to improve outcomes for Māori. In her earlier working life she practised as a senior registered theatre nurse in Sydney before returning to Aotearoa to work amongst disadvantaged tamariki for a Māori Health Provider.
She was appointed by Ngāti Kahungunu lwi (Incorporated) to be their trustee to the MTG Hawke's Bay Museum Trust. She has previously held a governance position for Waipuka 3B1C1 Incorporation which manages the Waipuka land and a papakāinga development.
Rose was a member of the Heretaunga Tamatea Settlement Trust, the Treaty of Waitangi claimant group for Heretaunga Tamatea. She is a long-term member of the Māori Women’s Welfare League and is a strong advocate on Māori issues to local government.
Rose's wide interests include reading; researching Māori history, on which she is a published author; repatriation of taonga world-wide and gardening.
