RESEARCH INTERESTS

Peter has over 30 years of experience in transport research, over 20 in a leadership role. He has been involved in a wide range of projects that have included: fleet fuel efficiency; vehicle and driver safety; road delineation treatments; the safety and effectiveness of overtaking lanes; vehicle roadworthiness and operator safety management systems. He has worked in collaboration with teams in the EU, Australia and Canada as well as throughout New Zealand.

Peter is currently involved in Te Ara Mua - Future Streets: an intervention study to make the streets of Mangere Central safer and more attractive for walking and cycling, and to study the effects on health and wellbeing.
