Video: Where might mobilities ‘go’?
We filmed this seminar with Dr Tara Duncan – thinking about mobility for a more sustainable future for travel, leisure and work.
Where might mobilities ‘go’?
With a growing history, the mobilities paradigm now blurs the boundaries between many disciplines in the social sciences and beyond. This seminar – also the keynote for the 5th New Zealand Mobilities Symposium – reflects on the challenges of current conceptions of mobility and asks if using a resilience framework could focus thinking about mobility for a more sustainable future for travel, leisure and work.
Tara Duncan is a lecturer in the Department of Tourism at the University of Otago, New Zealand. With a background in geography, her research interests focus on lifestyle mobilities, the complexities of youth budget travel and more recently, academic mobility, specifically framed within the climate change, transport and mobilities literature.
This event was held on Friday 4 July 2014 at University of Otago Wellington.
