Wellington’s open spaces

We made a submission to Wellington City Council on its draft open spaces and recreation framework for 2013-2023. We think that: Maximum and equitable accessibility to open spaces for all groups in society is a key principle. Open spaces are an important complement to intensification of residential or commercial development so that people living in greater density still have access to open and green areas.

Inequality

Philippa Howden-Chapman, director of the Centre for Sustainable Cities, Sarah Bierre and Chris Cunningham have contributed a chapter to Max Rashbrooke’s book – Inequality: A New Zealand crisis.
