NZ Centre For Sustainable Cities and Healthy Housing Programme Summer School

The 2013 Public Health Summer School will host 32 short courses – including 14 new courses and 18 courses repeated in core areas. NZ Centre for Sustainable cities and Healthy Housing Programme will run two valuable courses.

Childhood housing and health: evidence and action  (18 February 2013)

Speakers include:
Professor Philippa Howden-Chapman, social scientist and director of He Kainga Oranga/ Housing and Health Research Programme and the New Zealand Centre for Sustainable Cities
Dr Julie Bennett, Post-doctoral Research Fellow for the Housing and Health Research Programme at the University of Otago, Wellington
Dr Michael Keall, injury epidemiologist at the University of Otago, Wellington

Urban form and sustainability (21 February 2013)

Speakers include:
– Dr Carlos Dora, who manages WHO’s global programme of work on health in sector policies and health impact assessment (HIA), including housing, transport, energy, and the extractive industries
– Professor Anthony Capon, head of the Discipline of Public Health in the Faculty of Health at the University of Canberra
– Philippa Howden-Chapman
