NZ Centre For Sustainable Cities and Healthy Housing Programme Summer School
The 2013 Public Health Summer School will host 32 short courses – including 14 new courses and 18 courses repeated in core areas. NZ Centre for Sustainable cities and Healthy Housing Programme will run two valuable courses.
Childhood housing and health: evidence and action (18 February 2013)
Speakers include:
– Professor Philippa Howden-Chapman, social scientist and director of He Kainga Oranga/ Housing and Health Research Programme and the New Zealand Centre for Sustainable Cities
– Dr Julie Bennett, Post-doctoral Research Fellow for the Housing and Health Research Programme at the University of Otago, Wellington
– Dr Michael Keall, injury epidemiologist at the University of Otago, Wellington
Urban form and sustainability (21 February 2013)
Speakers include:
– Dr Carlos Dora, who manages WHO’s global programme of work on health in sector policies and health impact assessment (HIA), including housing, transport, energy, and the extractive industries
– Professor Anthony Capon, head of the Discipline of Public Health in the Faculty of Health at the University of Canberra
– Philippa Howden-Chapman
